As a child, like many American children, I had parents who insisted that I finish my dinner because there are children starving in Africa. Today, I know that it is much worse that that. There are people who do not even have a clean glass of water. No matter how tough the economic times are here in the US, I don't know of anyone who fears that their children may die if they drink the water they desperately need. Nor do I know anyone who is unable to get a job or go to school because they must spend their days walking for miles to collect pond water.
As an American, I live a life of privilege that I did nothing to earn. Therefore, I have a responsibility to handle my gifts with open hands. As a follower of Jesus, I have a Lord who has given me grace and love that I did nothing to earn. This same Lord loves the people of Asia. Therefore, once again, I have a responsibility to handle my gifts with open hand.

Jesus Wells increase the health standards of a village, allowing for children to be nourished and animals to be watered. The wells you provide are located in the village or community, so women and children no longer have to walk hours to find water.
With one well you can save an entire village from waterborne illnesses.
Unlike the dirty water from stagnant ponds, streams or old shallow wells, this water is clean and creates an awareness of good hygiene, leading to fewer medical problems and healthier people.
