Over the past year or so, the question that has dominated my thoughts and begun to take over my life has been; "Why me, Lord?" Why does He allow me to live in such comfort, luxury, and safety when the masses live in squalor, bondage, and constant abuse? Does He love me more than them? Absolutely not! Have I somehow earned this and they have not? On the contrary -- I am convinced that they deserve it much more than I. I believe that He has put me here so that He can use me to help provide for others. One of the things we in America take for granted every day is our water. We would never again eat at a restaurant that served us water that was discolored or tasted funny. We even buy bottled water so we don't have to taste the chlorine -- put there to kill bacteria, etc. and keep us healthy -- in our tap water at home. But for millions of people, the only alternative to water that is contaminated by garbage and sewage is no water at all. If each person who reads this would just once pass by Starbuck's and give the $5 for a Jesus Well instead of a fancy coffee, it would be enough for one well to supply a whole village with clean drinking water. My goal is to work together to provide two villages of people with clean drinking water, improved health, an improved economy (due to improved health, local workmen being paid to construct the wells, children having more time for school, etc.), and, most importantly, a chance to hear about the love of Christ.
